did some additional reading because I noticed the time stamps on the tweets (they’re from 2019) so I was curious if anything had developed since then, and basically … nope!

Pete Chiarelli apparently offered to split his deal with her to bridge the gap between their offers (ie Warner Bros refused to adjust/update Adele Lim’s offer) but she refused, making the public statement that she didn’t feel it was right that she have the depend on the mercy of her white male colleague.

Which is badass if you ask me. She’s right! She already proved her skills with the first movie, and if they’re being credited as co-writers they should be compensated as such too. The only way ‘industry standards’ change is if we make them 💪
